This PC was built for Christmas in 2019. It was configured using PC Part Picker, and the list of all the parts is located here. Amazon links to all of the parts are located below.
If you are looking to build this exact computer, you might end up spending a little more money than I did due to the fact that I purchased the majority of these items during holiday sales. Also, I purchased the original video card, XFX Radeon RX 480 8GB RS, as a used item from a friend, who sold it to me at a very discounted price. Realistically, I’m not even sure if you can even find this exact GPU anymore, and I’m also not sure if it would even be worthwhile, as there are many newer and better GPU options available. A suitable, replacement graphics card has already been included at the link above.
Although links are provided to Amazon, it is possible that not all parts are readily available to purchase directly from Amazon. As such, other great sites to check are Newegg and BestBuy. If you would like to modify what my son and I put together, I suggest doing so using this PC Part Picker link, which is the same as what was provided above.
To learn about how my son and I came to building this PC, read the article on My Experience Building a Gaming Computer with my Son. To learn more about each part of the PC, check out my Computer Building Basics guide. I have written another article on Why You Should Build a Gaming Computer with Your Kids Instead of Buying Gaming Consoles. The consolidated list of these reasons can be found here.
