Meet Your Mentor

Hello and Welcome to EEmaginations!

If you couldn’t already tell, the “EE” in EEmaginations stands for Electrical Engineering — and while that’s where it all started, this platform has grown into something bigger: helping all engineers engineer their future with clarity and confidence.

If you feel lost about which path to take, or you’re not getting the guidance you need from advisors or mentors, I can help you navigate those decisions — because I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to feel unsure, and I know how to get to the finish line.

Why Mentorship Matters

Guidance counselors are often overworked, and many university advisors don’t fully understand every major — especially engineering. It’s a challenging path that most students don’t take, and that means traditional advising often falls short.

That’s where I come in. I work with you one-on-one to fill the gap that general counseling can’t cover. Most advisors see hundreds of students across dozens of majors. I’ll be your dedicated engineering mentor — someone who’s been through it all, knows what questions to ask, and knows where to find the answers.

University counselors are there to support the university. I’m here to support you.

Who I Am

My name is David Marcus. I earned my B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2013 and my Professional Engineer (PE) license in 2019. Over the past decade, I’ve worked across multiple industries — from aerospace and defense to wearable IoT, cybersecurity, and embedded firmware development.

But before all of that, I was a single parent raising a child, working full- and part-time jobs, and balancing a full academic load. I began my journey at a community college, starting in College Algebra, one step at a time. That experience shaped how I mentor today — with empathy, practicality, and a roadmap that works in the real world.

What I Believe

I’ve always loved learning, troubleshooting, and helping others connect the dots — from math and systems design to career strategy and growth. Through my coaching sessions, I’ll help you do the same — achieve your academic goals, build confidence in your engineering journey, and create a clear plan for your professional growth.
